Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

You’ve read that we’ve had quite the cold snap here in the Northeast.  For two whole weeks, we’ve had nothing but sub-zero temps.  We finally warmed up to freezing this week (WHAT?!) and today’s temp was a whopping 51 degrees!  As we say here a lot: “Only in Vermont!”

Yesterday, because we had “winter temps”, we were able to do this at recess time:

However, since Spring decided to tease us today, the sliding track was melting and not good for tubing.  Since we don’t want to damage it before the colder weather and snow hits us this weekend (I know, yet another temperature change to the max), today we did this:

Not sure I’m ready to say goodbye to this beautiful preview to next season. Unfortunately, the 51 degrees will be like Big B – “Now you see it, now you don’t!”

Baby B enjoyed being outside, like he usually does, and I think he definitely missed the fresh air.  We have been cooped up for so long, he got mad when it was time to come in. I don’t think he was ready to let go of the refreshing air we have here in Vermont.

The kids’ creative side came out in the building of their snowmen as well.  It’s pretty neat when snow fun counts as an art project!

Hope everyone is able to get outside today and enjoy nature.
